Why Should I Become A Target Hotspot Host?
Target Hotspot Hosts can participate in growing a local IOT Network while earning income passively. The setup process is simple and we are available to help! A hotspot is like a mini base station that can communicate with IOT products such as smart dog collars, electric scooters, smart appliances etc... to transmit small amounts of data.
For example, if a dog with a smart collar is lost, the owner of the dog can access their smartphone application to locate their dog! This is done through transmitting common radio waves (similar to frequencies used by cordless phones). The hotspot will never interact with your smartphone, laptop and other devices in order to function. It simply uses your local WiFi as a vehicle to transmit small amounts of data and NOT gather any of your private data.

How Much Can I Earn?
Earnings will vary depending on many factors (ie: geographic location, network usage, market conditions etc..) Generally hosts with one Target Hotspot earn between $5 to $10/month up to a maximum of $25/month ($300 per year in ideal conditions). Payouts are via PayPal or e-transfer. Please contact us if you have multiple locations at least 400 meters (1,300 feet) apart from other Hotspots, as you could earn additional passive income by hosting additional Hotspots on our network!
Will Hosting A Hotspot Slow Down My Internet?
No, hosting a Hotspot will NOT slow down your internet. These IOT devices use very little power to operate and periodically send data that will not impact Wifi or internet speeds. It is highly recommended to have an unlimited data plan with your local internet service provider.
What Happens After I Submit My Application?
We will review your application and contact you if there is any additional information required. After that, if you qualify to work with us we will send one of our Target Hotspots to you, so you can start providing IOT coverage and earning ASAP!
Hotspot Setup FAQs
I Received The Hotspot, What Do I Do Next?
In your welcome package, there will be instructions on how to get your Hotspot connected to the network. If you have any issues, please contact us via our website’s contact form or give us a call. We want to help!
How Do I Know If The Hotspot Is Working?
Once you have correctly setup the Hotspot as per our instructions, the light on your Hotspot will turn green indicating that it has successfully connected to the internet. At this point our support team will activate your device remotely and let you know if there are any issues that need to be resolved.
Where Should I Place The Hotspot?
To optimize network coverage, we recommend placing the Hotspot as high as possible and near a window, preferably one that does not have a window screen. Why? Window screens and other metal objects can cause radio wave interference which impacts the devices ability to send and receive radio signals. Optimal Hotspot and antenna placement will impact network coverage and potential earnings.
Is The Hotspot Safe? How Does it Work?
Yes the Hotspot is indeed very safe. It is a low power device that uses 915 MHz radio frequency, similar to cordless phones to transmit small amounts of data when it receives a signal from other IOT devices in the Hotspots coverage area. It uses very little power (about $1 per month) and will not affect other devices in your home. When your Hotspot connects to other hotspots and IOT devices, they are able to transfer data between each other. Hotspot Hosts are compensated for providing IOT Network coverage in their local area.
What is the Internet of Things (IOT)?
The Internet of Things is a wireless network of devices that can communicate with one another and exchange small amounts of information. Some examples of such devices would be smart dog collars, lighting fixtures, thermostats, home security systems and cameras, locks, noise sensors and other home appliances.
Can I Host More Than 1 Hotspot?
Yes absolutely, but they MUST be in different locations. Due to high demand and network restrictions we limit one Hotspot for each household within a 400 meter radius (1,300 feet). If you would like to host multiple Hotspots, you may do so if your property locations meet our network criteria. If there are too many other Hotspots near your location it may impact your eligibility to participate in growing the network.
